The site is kept privately. No data protection officer has been appointed; the statutory conditions for doing so are not met.
The inbox of this site is public. Whatever is entered there appears with a file number and a timestamp, readable by anyone, in the inbox book — including a name given voluntarily. Do not write anything there that should not stand in public, and no information about third parties.
The site is served by Netlify Inc. On retrieval, log data is processed on the server: IP address, time, address retrieved, volume transferred, browser identification. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in secure and undisturbed operation. A data processing agreement is in place with the provider. Transfer to the United States cannot be ruled out; it is covered by standard contractual clauses.
No cookies are set and no analytics or advertising services are embedded. Only technical settings are stored in the browser: permanently the chosen language and the position of the sound switch, for the duration of the session a note that the file cover has already been opened, and while paging the direction of the last page change. These entries do not leave the device and can be deleted through the browser settings.
All fonts are served from our own server. There is no connection to Google Fonts or any other third-party font service.
Processed are the text entered and a sender name given voluntarily. No e-mail address is collected and no registration takes place.
The contribution is transmitted to Anthropic PBC for classification (see below) and subsequently published, with category, note and reply, in the public inbox book. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR — consent is given by sending in the knowledge of this notice.
Storage period: until withdrawal. A withdrawal by e-mail quoting the file number leads to deletion of the entry; the lawfulness of processing carried out until then remains unaffected.
Questions asked are transmitted to Anthropic PBC to be answered and are not stored afterwards. They appear nowhere in public and are neither logged nor analysed. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR; the legitimate interest lies in answering the enquiry.
Processed are name, contact details and description. These entries do not appear in public. They are transmitted to Anthropic PBC for classification and then delivered to the controller, who reads them personally. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.
A language model by Anthropic PBC, 548 Market St, San Francisco, CA 94104, USA is used to classify letters and to answer questions. Anthropic is a processor under Art. 28 GDPR; a corresponding agreement is in place. The transfer to the United States is covered by standard contractual clauses. The data are not used to train models.
No automated decision within the meaning of Art. 22 GDPR takes place: the machine classification merely prepares the ground; every decision on publication, reply or participation is taken by a human being.
Embedded videos from external providers are loaded only after an explicit click. Before that, no connection to their servers is established and no data are transmitted. With the click you consent to the connection (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); from that point on the privacy terms of the respective provider apply.
You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21 GDPR). Consent given can be withdrawn at any time with effect for the future.
To do so, write to akte@thedocumented.life. For contributions in the inbox book, quoting the file number is enough.
You may lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of your residence or at the place of the alleged infringement. For the address given, the competent authority is the Hamburgische Beauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit, Ludwig-Erhard-Str. 22, 20459 Hamburg.
This statement is adjusted as soon as processing operations change. Earlier versions are not deleted but carried forward with a date — like everything else in this file.
If something is missing here or looks wrong to you, write it into
the inbox. The note is recorded like any other entry.
